Repairing or Replacing Wood Siding

With a little luck, good-quality wood siding can stand outside in the wind, rain and sun, protecting your home for dozens, even hundreds of years. But sometimes, luck runs out. Perhaps a board will split, or a woodpecker will use the siding for a punch board. Other times, a board may lack the proper protection from the elements, and it will begin to rot. Cheap, low-quality siding can fall prey to a host of problems, from warping to rot or the inability to hold a coat of paint.
